Hypothyroidism Dos & Donts
Hypothyroidism, also called underactive thyroid disease.
Thyroid gland regulates metabolism as its main function.
Iodine and Thyroid
Iodine is needed for the production of the thyroid hormones. Too much or too little iodine can lead to hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism
Most commonly hypothyroidism is caused due to Physiology Stress and underactivity of thyroid gland.
It may also be associated with other disorders too
Symptoms of hypothyroidism
Slowed heart rate,
Loss of libido,
Recurrent urinary and respiratory tract lnfections,
Foods to be avoided after thyroid medications
Very High fibre foods, Iron and calcium supplements,
Certain Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, spinach and Brussels sprouts this may inhibit thyroid medication absorption.
Worse are fast foods
Foods to be taken
Good Antioxidant rich foods like Blueberries, tomatoes, bell peppers
Whole grains, Dairy products like milk and curd, sunflower seeds or Brazil nuts, sunflower and chia seeds can be beneficial.
Weightloss is possible if you have Hypothyroidism with regular Exercises and Customised Diet Plans.
